Blending poetic introspective lyrics with sixties inspired musical arrangements and lush vocal harmonies, Steven Mark describes his sound as Elliott Smith meets early REM with a touch of Crosby Stills and Nash.

A graduate of Columbia Journalism School and a former playwrite, Steven released his first cd, DISTRACTION, in the summer of 2004. The album was named one of the finest recordings of the year by Hybrid Magazine.

On the heels of that album, he turned to the realm of dysfunctional relationships with his 2005 cd ALONEAPHOBE, which was loosely inspired by the film Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. The album charted in the Top 15 for adds to CMJ.

Steven Mark's latest release, RACING GREY is due in stores May 22nd. He lives in New York City where he performs frequently at The Bitter End, Sidewalk Café, and The Baggot Inn.
